Look at this dog!

He is so dang cute, and I miss him so bad! If I had ANY money at all, he would live here. But, since I am poor and next year my life will be crazy with clinicals, he still lives in Denver. But, he is still my boy. And he has agreed to live forever.

Good news

First A & P test = A.

Too bad that doesn't make me feel any more confident about the 5 more tests that are in my future for this class.

Life Lessons

Trying not to have regrets, anyways. But I am definitely learning a A LOT of life lessons lately.

Being an adult is a bitch sometimes.

School is finally starting!

Last week, they had to delay the start of school because the hurricane knocked out the power on campus for the whole week. This sucks for 2 reasons:

1. I'm bored without school because I'm unemployed and have nothing to do when I don't have to study.

2. It delayed the semester's financial aid payout by a week. POOR. That's how you describe me right now.

So, 1 semester down, 8 to go, and I'm ready to get this party started!

Another NYC trip

I had another great weekend in the city and I feel the need to show my pictures of it. None of them are original, never-before seen pictures, but they were special for me. :) One day I walked 7 miles and gave myself a tour of the West Village. The next day I ran 4 miles at Central Park, just like I belonged there. Needless to say, my dogs are barkin'.

I went to NYC to dog sit Miss Moka, who is so adorable and sweet, but happens to be the WORST guard dog ever. This is what she did when I came in from my jog around Central Park:

Yep, she did nothing. Did not move a muscle. Absolutely hilarious!

I had a great night on the town with Wachmide and Michelle, 2 of my amazing classmates! We had some cocktails on the roof, an amazing dinner, and then drinks in the West Village. We also tackled Wachmide's fear of dogs, so overall, a very productive evening.

Kevin and I did not plan on having this be our "thing". However, it has turned out that it is now our "thing". We go to baseball stadiums during game times, drink a lot of beer, talk to each other, cheer when the crowd gets loud, and do not watch the game at all. It's a REALLY, REALLY fun time! This all started last summer in Chicago at a Cubs game, and here are our pictures from today at Yankee Stadium. We plan on hitting up a Mets game soon. Please take note of the people behind us. We bought cheap seats from a scalper (totally legal, I'm sure), and the tickets were in the middle a retirement group. Not one person within 3 rows either direction of us younger than 70, but they were drinking beer, so it was fine with us.

I stopped by the Weekend Today show and the Metropolitan Museum of Art:

I don't think I made the broadcast, and there was no Matt Lauer or Al Roker, but it was still really cool. This is my favorite piece of art that I saw at the Met. But, there were so many pieces, I could go back 800 times and not see it all.

.
I did my own version of a Sex and the City walking tour, so here is a picture of Scout (Aiden and Steve's bar), and the Magnolia Bakery that Carrie and Miranda made famous:

I went into this gorgeous cheese shop, and almost never left. It smelled so good in there, it was as if I was in Heaven.

I also went to Ground Zero. It was really depressing and hopeful all at the same time. The site is really hard to see because they are doing a lot of building for the memorial and there was a fence up around everything. I am actually glad about that because they are finally making a memorial instead of leaving a giant hole.

So, as I'm trying to appreciate the gravity of Ground Zero, I start to get distracted because there's a LOT of good looking men running around everywhere. So, I decided to investigate further and found this:

That's right, people. The Fireman Olympics. Seriously? How can I be this lucky??? There were lots of really, really hot men from Spain, Germany, Holland, and the USA about to compete in a stair climbing competition. So, I just walked around there for an hour or so watching them all be hot firemen. It was super.

Post Irene

Well, the hurricane was not as big of a deal as I thought it was going to be. There was definitely a lot of wind and rain, but the worst thing that happened was my power was out for 2 days. That really sucked, actually. Some people's power was out over a week though, so I shouldn't complain too much about 2 days. I took some pics of the aftermath in the neighborhood. There were a lot of trees down, and ocean water flooded about 2 blocks into the neighborhood, but I was very safe. The whole thing did make me rethink my desires on own a home directly on the water. I think the risk of floods and hurricane damage outweighs the perks of ocean living.

Many trees were pulled up, roots included.

This looked like a lightening strike on the street to me. The pavement was melted and looked like lava. It was pretty crazy!
